My Story
Hi, I’m Jo and I’m mummy to 11 year old Max and 7 year old Summer, and a wife to Mark.
My Scentsy journey started when we went on holiday In May 2018 and met a lovely family whilst we were there, they had a baby the same age as Summer so we chatted a bit and made friends on Facebook at the end of the holiday. Scentsy wasn’t mentioned whilst we were away but upon returning home she added me to her Scentsy VIP group and I was intrigued, but a bit confused, what on earth was this all about. Mark is a London firefighter and so we’ve never been allowed to have candles in our home, it’s understandably not something that he’s comfortable with and I accept that. I kept seeing her posts but watched silently until she offered ‘Mystery bags’, I’m a bit of a gambler and messaged her to find out more, it would contain everything I needed to get my started she said… well I was sold, it was worth a shot. In time my parcel arrived, a mini warmer and a bar of Luna. Well, I was IN LOVE!!! It was and still is my perfect scent and I loved the principle and the safety aspect for our home. I was so excited that in my haste to set it up I dropped the bulb on the kitchen floor, so I couldn’t even use it straight away, but I did jump online and order one, and a few more wax bars, as I couldn’t wait to get going. I was so impressed with the product (and remember I’d not even warmed any wax yet!) that I signed up to be a consultant the very next day, I wasn’t looking for another job, I have two already, but I just knew I needed this in my life and I seriously wanted the kit that you get when you sign up – what’s the worst that could happen, I might sell a few wax bars here and there right? So I ‘joined her team’ and that lovely lady I met on holiday is now my sponsor, and very good friend, and I haven’t looked back since!!
I could never have predicted the way my Scentsy journey would go, I was shy, I still am but Scentsy somehow brings confidence out in me that I never knew I had. I never thought I’d be able to run a home party, but I actually love them now. There are incentives from the beginning, not requirements so I never felt any pressure, and I hit many of them early on and the rewards were amazing! There are incredible incentives on offer, amazing trips that you could only dream of, I never, ever thought I’d be able to achieve that, little old me, I thought they were for people much higher up, but I was wrong. I’ve already travelled to Amsterdam with Scentsy and this year I have earned a 5 star cruise from New York to Bermuda which I go on in June!! Someone pinch me?! They call this ‘work’?!
Scentsy has literally changed my life and I’m so incredibly grateful that I was offered the opportunity and for everything it has bought into my life. Because my Scentsy business is my own I can run it in my own time and it means I am able to earn extra income around my existing work commitments, around my children, around my husband’s shifts, it’s a cliché but it really is exactly what you make it. I’m not saying it’s always easy, but it is absolutely always worth it! My children love ‘helping’ me with my Scentsy business, whether that be sniffing the tester pots or bagging up orders, deliveries etc, it’s something we can all get involved in as a family, and because it’s perfectly safe I have no concerns over having it in the house, the children even have a warmer each in their bedrooms. So not only does my house smell amazing, I know my children are safe and my husband is happy there is no risk.
I have a growing team and I love helping my team members achieve their goals and watching them grow personally and professionally. I find it strange to think three years ago I’d never heard of Scentsy and I now cannot imagine my life without Scentsy in it. I’ve built amazing friendships, both with my team and my customers and I cannot wait to see where my Scentsy journey takes me, the sky is the limit!!
